There are fears the easing of Victoria’s mask rules may lead to an explosion in COVID-19 cases.

The Premier has already flagged the possibility of restrictions being eased as soon as Wednesday.

It’s expected masks will soon no longer be mandatory to be worn in supermarkets and retail shops.

Professor Adrian Esterman from the University of South Australia said he would keep wearing his, regardless.

And he recommends you do the same.

“They’re not a huge imposition for people, especially in retail settings or where you’re meeting strangers, and they do work,” he said.
