Bush walkers have expressed concern over a controversial plan to build luxury accommodation in part of Victoria’s pristine high country.

The master plan includes a multi-million dollar track between Falls Creek and Mount Hotham that would include luxury huts.

Everyday hikers could walk along the track but would be banned from casual camping in the area.

Bushwalkers Victoria spokesman Peter Campbell spoke with 3AW Breakfast’s Justin and Kate, he says denying access to so-called ‘low-spenders’ is upsetting.

‘Being denied a permit because commercial groups have priority is a major concern.’

‘We would like to see recreational walkers do the walk whenever they choose!’ Mr Campbell told 3AW Breakfast.
