Three typos spotted in separate VCE exams and a misplaced apostrophe in a major newspaper have led to growing concerns of slipping standards.

Chief desk editor at The Age, Joanne Anderson, says in the case of the misplaced apostrophe, it could be possible the article was written in a “mad scramble”.

“So I’m not going to assume that the person who did it doesn’t know where the apostrophe goes,” she told Tom Elliott.
