Concerns raised over ‘archaic’ methods of disciplining dogs

Tom Elliott

A new program from Channel 10 is receiving backlash from animal welfare groups for using “archaic” methods to control badly behaved dogs.

Dog behaviourist, Laura V, says dog owners should do their best to communicate with their dogs in a “positive” way.

“Usually dogs will behave in ways we don’t like because we’re humans and they’re dogs, and a lot of things dogs do are very normal dog things,” she told Neil Mitchell.
