RUMOUR CONFIRMED: A man is facing weapons charges after allegedly threatening a student with a knife outside a school in Melbourne’s west.

3AW Breakfast’s Rumour File was alerted to a school in Tarneit being placed in lockdown last week following reports of a man brandishing a weapon at a student.

Police have since confirmed they responded to the incident outside Baden Powell College last Thursday.

Three people were arrested, with an 18-year-old man released pending summons in relation to weapons offences.

Two boys, aged 14 and 12, were also released after being issued with formal cautions for unlawful assault.

Nobody was injured during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
