Social Services Minister Christian Porter has explained why men are the target of a new $30 million domestic violence campaign on 3AW Drive.

The campaign features a confronting television commercial.

Mr Porter told Tom Elliott it was aimed at men, because men were ‘overwhelmingly’ represented statistically as perpetrators.

‘Not exclusively, but overwhelming that’s the case,’ he said.

‘That’s not to say it (female violence) doesn’t happen.’
