‘Confusing system’: The tiny amount of Melburnians compensated for poor public transport performance
Melbourne public transport users aren’t applying for compensation they’re entitled to, with one million passengers travelling on Metro Trains and Yarra Trams each day, but only 429 customers were compensated in the last financial year.
It comes despite both of the private operators falling short on performance targets.
President of the Public Transport Users Association, Tony Morton, told 3AW Breakfast it’s a “confusing system” and Victorian commuters need to jump through a few hoops to get a refund.
