Residents in Bulleen have shared their frustration after construction on the North Eastern link went well into the night.

One resident, Leanne says she’s been forced to buy black-out curtains due to bright floodlights which shine into her room.

“Firstly, it was the chainsaws that were cutting down trees most nights which was quite saddening to listen to that, and then, most recently, we’ve had to start listening to the jack-hammering that started at night,” she told Jacqui Felgate.

The chief executive officer of Major Roads Projects Victoria, Duncan Elliott says the works taking place currently are to help re-align Bulleen Road in the coming weeks.

He also says residents close by to the works were offered alternative accommodation.

“I can say in this case, thirty properties were offered that and five took it up,” he said.
