Controversial MP Bernie Finn booted out of the Liberal Party

Bernie Finn has formally been booted out of the Liberal Party.

The controversial MP learned his fate on Tuesday.

It comes after a string of incidents Matthew Guy said had brought the party into disrepute.

Mr Finn is an outspoken critic of abortion and has courted controversy with several tasteless posts online.

Mr Guy said it was Mr Finn’s behaviour, not beliefs, that led to him being expelled from the parliamentary party.

But Mr Finn disputes that version of events.
