Controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank has been injured in a shooting.

Police detectives are investigating after a 52-year-old man’s forehead was grazed when several shots were fired at an Ascot Vale home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Another person in the house at the time of the incident escaped unhurt.

Dank has since been released from hospital.

Police said six shots were fired into the house, suspected to be from the one gun.

No arrests have been made.

Dank was one of the central figures in the Essendon supplements saga and has been banned for life from working in the AFL.

South Australian football legend Graham Cornes spoke with Dank on Saturday morning, according to son Kane.

‘He (Dank) is very angry,’ Kane Cornes said on 3AW Football.

‘Stephen expressed to dad that he didn’t feel scared, his overriding emotion was anger.

‘He feels it was an attempt to silence him from a speaking engagement that was coming up and was in in order to prevent him from saying from what he was going to say.’
