Corrections officer coward punched and kicked in ‘unprovoked and vicious’ attack at Malmsbury

A corrections officer has been coward punched from behind before being kicked while on the ground by an inmate at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre.

The Community and Public Sector Union has described the attack as “unprovoked and vicious”.

The officer has been taken to hospital.

He’s suffered injuries to his face and head.
