Melbourne could reclaim their title of having the longest escalator in Australia after the City of Melbourne Council approved a 47-metre escalator in Docklands to be built in 2026.

Deputy lord mayor of Melbourne, Nicholas Reece, says the escalator will span 10 floors and will lead to a function centre.

“I’m sure it will be a huge drawcard it will be great views across Docklands towards Victoria Harbour,” he told Tony Moclair.
