Council in Melbourne’s south criticised for ‘not addressing’ safety concerns with new safety feature

Jacqui Felgate

The Port Phillip Council has been criticised for a decision to install fairy lights on Acland Street in St Kilda, in an attempt to make the area safer.

Council Watch’s Dean Hurlston, says the lights don’t solve the crime issue impacting the street.

“They need to actually address the safety, crime, and cleanliness concerns in this area,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
