Council officers dismantle homeless protest at City Square
The homeless camp at City Square has been dismantled, but the protesters say they’re not going anywhere.
Council officers arrived at 7am on Friday, demanding the structures made from milk crates and tarps be pulled down.
The protesters complied, but vowed to keep demonstrating.
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle told 3AW on Thursday all 25 protesters had been offered accommodation and couldn’t understand why they hadn’t left.
He said he was confident no force would be needed to remove the group.
