Council push to shut down Swan Street on Saturday

Yarra City Council wants to shut Swan Street on Saturday.

But VicRoads says it won’t be happening.

Councillor Stephen Jolly told Dee Dee Dunleavy he wanted the Richmond street blocked off between Punt Road and Church Street.

Thousands of footy fans flooded Swan Street on Saturday night after the Tigers qualified for the grand final.

The same thing is expected to happen this week.
