Council set to ask holiday home owners to put property on rental market

The Mornington Peninsula Shire is set to write to property owners, asking them to consider putting their holiday homes on the rental market to combat a housing shortage.

Councillor Sarah Race said it was impacting the permanent population in the area, with some families unable to find affordable accommodation.

“We need people to live down here,” Cr Race said.
