Councillor slams own council as residents wake to find a sticker and uncollected recycling

Residents have found stickers on their recycling bins saying their recycling won’t be collected due to plastic.

City of Yarra councillor, Stephen Jolly, says the bins should be picked up in the next couple of days but took aim at the council for their “bin tax”.

“There is a lot of problems with bin collection, and in my opinion, at the City of Yarra and in Melbourne, but I don’t think it’s wrong to let the resident know if they’ve messed up the recycling,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
