A City of Port Phillip councillor is ramping up his fight against new pop-up bike lanes in Port Melbourne, Elwood and St Kilda.

Andrew Bond will push for the removal of some of the new lanes, which he says are an accident waiting to happen, at the next council meeting this week.

“I don’t believe I’ll be successful, because that would require some of the councillors that voted for this project to admit they made a mistake, they got it wrong and to change their minds – I just don’t expect that to happen,” he told Tom Elliott.

“But given the volume of feedback I’ve been receiving from residents, we have to try and reverse this decision because it’s having a severe across all of Port Phillip.”
