COVID-19: More than half of Victoria’s 80 new local cases infectious while in the community
Victoria recorded 80 new locally-acquired COVID-19 cases yesterday.
Of the new cases, 41 were in the community while infectious.
Thirteen have not yet been linked to known outbreaks.
There are now 36 people in hospital in Victoria with COVID-19.
Eight of those need a ventilator to breathe.
There are now 67 active case in the Shepparton cluster.
Yesterday was a mammoth day for vaccinations, with 33,932 Victorians receiving a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
It was also a huge testing day with 56,248 test results received.
Of the 80 local cases, 67 are linked to current outbreaks and 39 have been in quarantine throughout their infectious period.[2/2]
