COVID ‘blip’ no cause for alarm, says expert
An infectious disease expert says while the latest COVID numbers are relatively high, it was an expected “blip” because of high transmission rates over the Christmas and New Year period.
There were 108 COVID deaths reported in the past week, with 689 Victorians currently in hospital with the infection.
But Professor Robert Booy says the wave is tapering.
