COVID inquiry independent panelist on why it won’t look state and territory ‘unilateral decisions’
Following criticism of the federal government’s inquiry into COVID, one of the government-appointed independent panelists has discussed the intention of the review.
Chair in epidemiology at Deakin University, Professor Catherine Bennett, says the inquiry will look at the “big picture”.
“Whilst … it’s not specifically tasked with looking at very specific unilateral decisions at state level, it is looking at that collective leadership that happened through our national cabinet,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
