Craig Foster weighs in on Socceroos’ protest against Qatar’s human rights record

Jimmy Bartel

Former Australian soccer player, Craig Foster, has praised the Socceroos’ ‘strong and authentic’ statement against Qatar and its human rights record.

It comes after 16 Socceroos players released a video calling for remedy for migrant workers and the decriminalisation of same-sex relationships.

Foster spoke on Sportsday on the significance of the statement by the Socceroos.

“I’m delighted to see that the Socceroos have made not just a statement, but a really strong and authentic one,” Foster said.
