Cricket Australia send message of reassurance for those heading to the MCG
Cricket Australia have offered a message of reassurance to all those heading to the MCG for today’s match.
All appropriate security measures are in place following Friday’s terror threat, says Cricket Australia.
CEO of Cricket Australia, James Sutherland, tells 3AW’s Tony Jones they are working closely with police and the state government.
‘We go through a lot of preparation leading into all of our major events, particularly the Boxing Day Test match,’ says Mr Sutherland.
‘We work very closely with Victoria Police and others, I guess earlier in the week was cause for concern, but we’ve had assurances from Federal Police, Victorian Police and the Victoria Government.’
He tells 3AW Mornings, ‘Whatever is needed to increase the support around the ground is there and on hand.’
