CRIME WATCH: Carjackings, home invasions terrifying Melburnians

Over the last few days there have been as many as five terrifying and often violent carjackings across Melbourne.

But there’s other disturbing accounts of criminal activity that aren’t getting the same attention.

In one incident, a Melbourne man confronted two young teens rifling through his car early one morning in the outer south-east.

Jim, who didn’t want his real name or suburb used, told Neil Mitchell the young men had a gun and were brazen and threatening.

‘They made it known they were prepared to use (the gun),’ he said.
