UPDATE: An elderly woman has described how she tried to stop a brazen car thief from stealing her daughter’s car.

Yesterday Christine spoke to Neil Mitchell about her mum, 76-year-old Doris, who ended up in hospital after the incident outside her Lalor home.

She said her mum was left bleeding and injured when she tried to stop the young men from taking her car.

Doris told Neil Mitchell today she was shocked it happened in broad daylight, on a busy road.

‘I just got him in time, I grabbed him from the shoulder just to stop him,’ she said.

‘[It was] stupid of me, but in that moment you don’t think.’
