‘Critically important’: Jacinta Allan takes aim at Liberal Party over anti-vilification legislation

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has told Tom Elliott she is yet to hear back from the Liberal Party on the anti-vilification bill which would give Victoria Police the ability to crack down on hate speech.
The Premier stated it’s a “critically important” piece of legislation, and comes a day after a national cabinet meeting was held following a spate of anti-Semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne.
“We have legislation in the Victorian parliament right now Tom, that is putting hateful speech like anti-Semitism … putting that into the Crimes Act where it belongs,” Allan said on 3AW Mornings.
