‘Crying for Victoria’: The aspect of state budget which angers Jeff Kennett

Former premier Jeff Kennett says he’s “crying for Victoria” following the release of the state budget on Tuesday.

His comments come on the back of the green lit being given to the $34.5bn Suburban Rail Loop East project as part of the budget, which is slated to connect Cheltenham and Box Hill.

“I’m crying for Victoria,” he told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“We are going to pay a price for this well beyond my lifetime.”
