Customer ‘absolutely dumbfounded’ after bank goes cashless

An ANZ customer has been left “dumbfounded” after trying to take out money at a branch near the city.

Since September last year, the ANZ branch in South Melbourne has gone cashless in a sign of the times, and Michelle told Jacqui Felgate she was surprised a bank of all places would continue to phase out cash.

“I was absolutely dumbfounded,” she said on 3AW Drive.

“I was informed that if I wanted to take out a sum of money that was more than the daily limit, I would need to go to the city or another branch.”
