Cutting immigration will solve many of our problems
Australia brings in about 200,000 permanent migrants per year, on top of the people coming on various visas.
Tom Elliott believes we should cut back our immigration due to the negative effects it has on our economy, roads and pollution.
‘Australia can control its immigration,’ Tom says.
‘No where have I been asked as a voter how many immigrants we should have and how big our population should be.’
But Amanda Gailiss, Youth Governor of Victoria disagrees, saying ‘legislation and…restrictions’ in certain areas will solve the problem.
‘I see many different ways to impact these issues other than cutting immigration,’ she told Tom.
