Cyclist dies after being hit by rubbish truck

A man has died after being hit by a rubbish truck in Melbourne’s south-east this morning.

Police say the cyclist and truck collided in Moorooduc on the Moorooduc Highway near Bungower Road, about 10.40am.

The man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The male truck driver did stop at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
