A cyclist is lucky to be alive after he was struck by a vehicle and left for dead at Footscray.

Christobal Valencia, 35, was T-boned at the intersection of Lyons and Whitehall streets at about 8.20am on Thursday.

He told 3AW Drive’s Nick McCallum he’s angry, not just by what happened, but at the drivers reaction.

“I hit the bonnet, my shoulder goes into it, my head, I fly off the car and hit the ground,” he said.

“My helmet cracks in half and I’m just left there,

“He just hits me and takes off.”

Mr Valencia suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
