Dairy farmers decide to get even

Ross Greenwood speaks to Steve Ronalds from Gippsland Jersey about creating their own cooperative so they can receive higher dairy prices.

Many dairy farmers are now giving up and moving away from the industry.

There are other farmers who have decided to ‘get even’ and Steve Ronalds is one of those.

‘This started in about Easter time,’ Ronalds said.

‘We could sort of see the writing on the wall that the industry wasn’t in a good place and that’s when we decided that we should try and bottle a little bit of our own milk.’
