Daniel Andrews calls for calm, as UFU member investigated over assault claims
The Premier and Opposition Leader have called for calm as the fire fighters dispute turns ugly.
A member of the United Firefighters Union is facing charges over an alleged assault at a Diamond Creek newsagency following a stoush over stickers supporting the CFA.
The man has been arrested, questioned and released pending summons.
The MFB is also investigating the claims, with Matthew Guy revealing he’d been hit with death threats on Facebook.
There’s also reports of bullets being dropped into fundraising buckets.
‘People need to take a step back from this,’ Daniel Andrews said.
‘Violence is never acceptable, in any context.’
