Daniel Andrews confronted by local mayor at press conference
The Premier has been confronted by the Mayor of Nillimbik, who was then turned on by residents, at a budget announcement in Eltham.
Daniel Andrews was in the suburb to unveil $30 million in funding for Pick My Project, which would see Victorians choosing their own community funding priorities.
The Premier got caught in a confrontation with Mayor Peter Clarke who highlighted previous cuts to another fund as the reason for council looking to sell off land.
The press conference was then also interrupted with with questions from community members, as Mr Andrews took questions from journalists.
“You are not selling this piece of land, we will do anything we have to, to stop you selling this piece of land,” Mr Andrews says to the Mayor.
“Anyway, are there any questions from journalists?”

Mr Clarke told Tony Jones he was invited to the press conference to stand behind the Premier.
“He wasn’t keen for me to point out that all he was doing was reinstating the money that was previously there,” he said.
“We weren’t going to let them get away with that sort of mischief.”
