Daniel Andrews says he’s never met Nial Finegan, but this photo suggests otherwise

Premier Daniel Andrews claims he’s never met former public servant who claims he was told he’d never hold another public service job in Victoria because he was “too Irish”, but according to 2017 television footage, that’s not true.

Former head of the Environmental Protection Authority, Nial Finegan, was spotted standing inches from Daniel Andrews at a press conference on a Coolaroo fire in 2017.

“It’s possible he was within inches of him and didn’t actually meet him,” Neil Mitchell said.

“You can’t expect him to remember everybody.”
