Daniel Harford reveals the five players Hawthorn can put up for trade
3AW Football analyst Daniel Harford has floated five possible trade options for Hawthorn.
Much has been made of the Hawks and their winless start to the season, with some suggesting it’s time to rebuild.
But there’s one problem – they’ve traded away most of their draft picks.
So, Harf has thrown up some possible trade options.
‘He’s 28 this year and you’d have to have concerns about his ability to sustain his explosive ability for another three or four years, which you’d want to be getting if you were coughing up a top 10 pick, or two top 20 picks,’ Harford said.
‘I reckon you’d get one, which would hopefully be top 12.
‘But I wouldn’t do it, if I was Hawthorn.’
‘I reckon you could get a first rounder and that would be worthwhile,’ Harf said.
‘He’s another who would have significant currency,’ Harford said.
‘I reckon you’d get a first round pick.’
Harford also suggested James Sicily and Ryan Burton, but said their young age meant trading them made little sense.
‘So I think, in the end, you end up with Luke Breust or Jack Gunston as your tradeable players.’
