Darren James defends Delta Goodrem’s performance in ‘Cats’
Delta Goodrem’s performance in Cats has come under fire for lacking power.
But Darren James disagrees with that assessment.
Herald Sun reviewer Kate Herbert said Ms Goodrem’s rendition of the song Memory had ‘limited nuance and emotion.’
However, the song appears twice in the production, and Darren wasn’t convinced Ms Herbert saw both of them.
He said Ms Goodrem’s vocals in the reprise were ‘unbelievably powerful.’
‘Any more power would have been blown out into the foyer.
‘I don’t know whether [Ms Herbert] stayed to the end of the show.’
