Data reveals Melbourne’s population increase eclipses COVID exodus

Analysis from KPMG has revealed Melbourne’s population has bounced back after the COVID exodus with over 100,000 people moving to the city during the 2022-2023 period.
Director of Planning and Infrastructure Economics at KPMG Australia, Terry Rawnsley, says a few different factors are responsible for the increase.
“Kind of the interesting part of this is of that 111,000, 26,000 went into … non-private dwellings, non-private dwellings are student accommodation, worker-housing,” he told 3AW Breakfast.
