Dayne Beams has shot to prominence in the race to become Brisbane’s next captain, says Mitch Cleary.

The Sportsday newsbreaker, who previously revealed Jarryd Roughead would become Hawthorn captain and that Bob Murphy would keep his role at the Western Bulldogs, told Gerard and Dwayne the former Collingwood midfielder loomed as the man to replace Tom Rockliff.

‘He’s made it known to officials he wants the job,’ Mitch Cleary said on 3AW.
