‘Deadly serious’: Mark Butler’s strong warning to those ‘flouting’ vaping laws

Federal Health Minister Mark Butler has issued a strong warning to those openly “flouting” vaping laws.
Last October, the importation of disposable vapes into Australia was banned, with people over the age of 18 only able to purchase vapes from participating pharmacies.
And Butler told Tom Elliott he’s “deadly serious” about the penalties put in place, including million of dollars in fines, and even jail time.

“This is driving me to distraction, and I know it’s driving parents to distraction as well,” he told Tom Elliott.
“This is a serious public health problem … we’ve got to lift the game on enforcement.”
