Deakin University is trialling the use of ‘Brain Training’ tools to help smokers kick the habit..

The Victorian trial will look into whether daily mental exercises can help improve impulse control. 

Associate Professor Petra Staiger, lead researcher at Deakin University spoke with Ross and John about the trial.

‘Someone will have to do this computer task everyday for two weeks, only about 10 minutes.

150 people will take part in the trial.

‘We’re then hoping to then evaluate this over a six month period,’ Professor Staiger told 3AW Breakfast.
