Dean Jones blasts “desperate” wicketkeeping selection
Dean Jones has blasted the selection of Tim Paine as “desperate”.
Jones said the keeper’s selection doesn’t say much about Australia’s wicket-keeping stocks.
“Paine’s had one first-class hundred in 154 innings,” he said.
“It reeks of desperation to me. They’re trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat.”
Jones said the selection of Paine spells the end of Matthew Wade’s Test career.
Dwayne: So you think Wade should give up on playing for Australia?
Deano: Pretty much.
Jones said he doesn’t mind the recall of Shaun Marsh, an experienced player, for the Ashes.
He tipped Australia to win the series 3-1.
