Dean Jones sees ‘leadership qualities’ in young Test opener Matt Renshaw
Dean Jones thinks the Australian Test team has found a new leader.
Matt Renshaw may be just four matches into his Test career, but he’s turned heads with a couple of solid, reliable knocks.
Renshaw is unbeaten on 167 after the first day of the SCG test, perfectly constructing his innings through the day.
The 20-year-old batted slowly while Dave Warner started the innings with a blast, and then lifted his strike rate as the day wore on.

‘I don’t want to put any pressure on the kid, but I think there’s some leadership qualities about him,’ Jones told Sports Today.
‘There’s a bit of Mark Taylor about him at a young age.’
