‘Deary me’: 3AW host fires up after Victorian premier handed pay rise

Premier Jacinta Allan is set to receive another pay rise, it emerged on Monday.

Ms Allan’s salary will nudge half a million dollars, while backbench MPs will be paid over $200,000 – a decision ratified by Victoria’s Independent Remuneration Tribunal.

“Deary me,” 3AW Drive host Shane McInnes said just minutes after the story broke.

“You’d really like to meet the people who tick off on these pay increases for politicians.”
