Decision to rebrand Victoria’s cricket team a ‘waste of time, energy and effort’

The Victorian Bushrangers are no longer.

The state cricket squad is now known as the Victorian Men’s Cricket Team.

Cricket Victoria has ditched the nickname in a move they say will “simplify the brand.”

However, Tom Elliott is concerned the decision may have been made due to political correctness.

Victorian cricket great Simon O’Donnell was left “dumbfounded” by the decision.

“I just don’t see any sense in it,” he told 3AW Drive.

“There are a lot bigger issues in cricket to be getting right.

“It’s a waste of time, energy and effort.”
