Deputy opposition leader Jane Hume concedes Liberal Party ‘needs to change’
Deputy opposition leader Jane Hume says things need to change in the Liberal Party and admits the party is in an unsustainable position.
Speaking to Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings, she says she and Angus Taylor want to move the party forward and to restore Australia’s standard of living and immigration.
“We need to be able to take a breath, we want our immigration numbers to be lower, but we also want our standards to be higher … if you don’t subscribe to Australia’s core beliefs, then the door should be shut,” she said.

She’s also revealed the opposition will advocate for bringing taxes down and reducing spending.
“Angus Taylor has written to Anthony Albanese and offered to set up a bipartisan taskforce into how we reduce government spending,” she added.
