The fight between the Premier and the Emergency Services Minister has hit something of a truce. 

Daniel Andrews blinked yesterday and Jane Garrett wasn’t put in the position where she had to quit. 

Neil Mitchell spoke with the Deputy Premier, James Merlino.

James Merlino: ‘We’ve made some good progress’

Neil: ‘What?’

Merlino: ‘We’ve made progress over the last 24 hours with the premier’ 

Neil: ‘What about the CFA?’

Merlino: ‘This has been an issue that’s been going on for over 1100 days, Neil…’
