Richmond residents say they’re “baffled” and “devastated” by the Andrews government’s decision to make the Richmond supervised injecting room permanent.

Sharon says the children and the community of North Richmond have been “sacrificed”.

“We are not against the room, we support the room. It does save lives, but it can save lives anywhere other than next to a school!,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

Frizz, another North Richmond resident, says she’s “baffled”.

“We’re seeing drug deals on the streets. I’ve helped revive someone. On my sixth day of living in this area I saw a dead body,” she said.
