Man shot by police at Coburg North
A man wanted in relation to the death of another man has been shot by police at Coburg North.
3AW Drive received multiple calls, shortly before 5pm on Monday, alerting people to a heavy police presence on Newlands Road.
“They were stopping for nothing,” Jilda said of seven police cars she counted speeding past here.
Travis rang moments later.
“Around at 4.44pm I was making my pasta sauce and heard two loud bangs in rapid succession,” he said.
“There was an interval of about 20 seconds and then another three loud bangs.
“Now there are cops everywhere.”

Police have since confirmed they spotted the man, wanted for questioning in relation to the death of a man at Albanvale on June 25.
They said the man then saw police and took off in his vehicle with police in pursuit.
A foot chase then pursued, with the male confronting police with a screwdriver and an officer discharged their firearm, shooting the man.
The 64-year-old Broadmeadows man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Professional Standards Command is investigating the actions of the police involved.
