A group of youths remain on the run after allegedly ramming a police vehicle in North Geelong.

Three male offenders were initially spotted breaking into cars at North Geelong train station early this morning.

They jumped in a car, rammed a police van and fled.

Police pursued the offenders for a short time before terminating the chase.

The youths were involved in a collision with a garbage truck on Elizabeth Street in Geelong West.

They fled on foot before jumping in a white Holden Commodore.

Again, police chased it. But again they decided it was not safe to continue the pursuit.

The trio is still on the run.
